Curly was bummed. Had to watch the Olympics instead of going. (What's
Curly's favorite sport?) |
Brian could have taken him, but was busy
modeling Emily's home-made hat.
 |
 So he
entered the basketball pool in hopes of winning.
The little homer picked George Mason.
It's a road trip to Indianapolis! |
(Someone had a rough trip and forgot to put the emergency brake on at
the hotel Friday night, and the car slid into a bus.)
 |

Motorcycle cop escort to the game on Saturday! |
Curly got in without a ticket. Security thought it was a
growth on Frank's neck. |

Traveling buds: Punky, an alumna of the GMU Women's Basketball team and
her co-worker Gayle, who was a real sport to go on a 1200-mile, 5 day trip
with strangers.

Hey, Billy Packer, got Mason in your bracket? |
|

No one sat down the entire first half when Mason was still in the game. |
Cryin' time after the game.
The bar that adopted the Mason fans had friendly
waitresses. Curly made friends with waitress Erica. Punky loved it.

|

Sunday we were in the front row for the taping of "live" SportsCenter. |
|
Curly does SportsCenter
 |
 |

Back at the bar, we meet Bud Light Daredevil Ted Ferguson. |

How long can he hold Curly before he needs a Bud Light? |
We'd gone on the Mason fan buses for the semi-final game.
For the final game, we did warm ups at the Mason bar and were first in line
to get in for the championship game.

Curly makes friends wherever he goes. |
|

Curly wanted to hang out where the trashy UCLA cheerleaders would be. |

The cop liked Curly enough to pose for a picture, but
didn't need the competition when the cheerleaders arrived. |
We don't know who this is. He wouldn't share with Curly.
 |
|

Mason fans were over the loss, and proud to have been at
the Final Four.
Curly finally met one of his own species...who soon left to
go home to California.
The Gators got it done.

Billy Donovan cuts down the net.

And Pat gets to see "One Shining Moment" on the big screen... |
