Here is where we will post the Brackets you submitted for March Madness. Please note the "rules."

The rules are simple:

  1. Pick whatever Men’s NCAA Division 1 Basketball brackets you would like.  I used CBS, but any will do.  CBS has an on-line challenge, where you can make your picks and then print them.  I have to be able to read your picks, so I recommend this type of an approach.
  2. Fill out your picks
  3. Make certain to give a final score for each of your two championship round teams.  This will be the tie breaker if it is necessary.
  4. Send your picks to me prior to 11:00 AM EDT Thursday the 15th.  If you are late, you will get dinged for the games that have already been played.  The judges (me) will consider whether to rule out a team that happens to win; seems unlikely to have won, and advances.  For example: If you happen to pick Jackson State to beat Florida; and they do; but you sent in the picks after the Jackson State victory, I may decide that you are a complete cheater, and not award wins even though Jackson State goes all the way.  You can send me your picks either by fax (540) 286-0073 or by return email as an attachment.
  5. Results, and your brackets will be posted at www.TheReillyGroup.net/MarchMadness
  6. Good picking!
  7. This year there are no prizes - Sorry.  However, last year's winner, Curly won an all-expense paid trip to the Final Four!  See highlights of his trip by clicking here.

Here are the brackets that were submitted in time

You can click on the bracket to see a bigger version.

I'll try to keep up with the scoring until I lose or lose interest.

Notes

New to Bracketology is Gloria, who was game enough to give it a try. If she enjoys it, we’ll have nurtured a potential, future Hoops Junky and that’s how the Madness grows. Gloria only missed 4 on the first day, but one of them was Texas Tech. She picked TT to go all the way to the final game. Gloria, in case you haven’t figured this out yet, when one of your finalists goes out in the first round and ruins your bracket, primal screams sometimes help. Accompany yours with chair throwing.

 Bubble Babes

At 8 – 8, Janet and SK might not have made the Big Dance. Picks that result in a .500 record are welcome by those of us who want to beat ANYONE.

How about SK? She was lamenting the hard time she had in finding a pool that involved CASH. Hope you submitted a different Sheet of Integrity to that pool, SK.

And Janet must be spending too much time under water. Either that or her longing for the Mid-Atlantic States has made her the Homer of All Times. Only time will tell if VCE, VT, U Va and Georgetown all advance. But ODU as national champs? Can primal screams be heard if they are emitted under the sea?

 Testosterone Triplets

All the guys are bunched up, tied for 2nd place. Brian is obviously not hanging with gypsies in France. He’d have done better without trying to use a crystal ball to guess that the lower seed upsets. But he and John were the only ones to acknowledge the inexperienced youth of Duke. Frank just can’t resist picking the Fish Eaters, and paid for 2 or his 3 bad picks with the Zags and Marquette.

 Final Four Roomies

Punky and Gayle were very similar in their picks. Gayle did the homer thing with George Washington which dropped her one lower than Punky. Duke, Gonzaga and Davidson tripped them both up. Gayle had the good sense to figure Duke couldn’t get past the second round; Punky will pay later.

 The Leader of the Pack

I get to write all this drivel, because for at least another 20 minutes or so, I’m ahead!

 Meaningless Stats

  • 66% of us picked Duke, Gonzaga and BYU
  • Bob Knight fooled 33% of us
  • In the quest to pick the 12 – 5 upset, 55% of us went with the CAA Cinderella candidate. The one who turned into a pumpkin last night.
